Foreign Legion Boot Camps consist of a six weeks block period of structured regular workout sessions that incorporates proven ways of stimulating the body to increase cardio vascular fitness levels and ability, strengthening your heart, developing pure core & body strength & power, whilst increasing flexibility and a higher state of mental and physical alertness. This is achieved through a range of different exercises structured in a program consisting of a variation of exercises that are always changing so that your body does not become accustomed to any routine, thus enhancing its ability to develop. By using body weight exercies, medicine balls, light weights, running, sprinting, pylometric exercises, power yoga and core exercises as well as “snap & shock exercises” you will feel the fittest ever. One thing you will not find at Foreign Legion Boot Camps is ineffective exercises and soft methods as employed by so many P.T and gyms. Boot Camp sessions are designed in a way that each sessions builds a base for the next, allowing a coherent program. By having a structured program, goals are met and progress is guaranteed for each Boot Camp attendee.
Who attends the Foreign Legion Boot Camps? Foreign Legion Boot Camps are designed for everyone. In the small group format, the standard is adapted to the level of each individual in the group without affecting other attendees. Each participant is expected to give it their all in effort in order to achieve their goals. Coach J-R will encourage and push (with tact) each participant to achieve what is expected of him or her in each exercise, each session. Coach J-R will be working out along side the Boot Camp attendees to help them push through the ”pain barrier”. Coach J-R leads by example and does not stand by watching. One To One sessions are the same except that the individual gets a lot more attention and less room for slacking! The average attendee at the Foreign Legion Boot Camps is the person that wants to get fit or fitter, to become more alert, and confident & sure of themselves. Attendees will also find themselves becoming more health conscious in their life style. There are no prerequisites, no judgement or categorizing of attendees. All you need is a willingness to participate, listen, work hard, and evolve into a fitter, quicker, alert person through your own efforts.
Should I see the Doctor before undertaking physical exercise such as a Boot Camp? You will be asked to sign a waiver to attend the Boot Camp. This waiver attests to your suitability to engage is physical exertion such as a Boot Camp workout sessions. If you are in any doubt towards your suitability then you are encouraged to consult your G.P. During each Boot Camp session, Coach J-R will watch out for any signs of health issues of each attendee. A qualified and experienced Coach and Physical Training Instructor, as well as being CPR certified and experience in coaching people of all levels, Coach J-R will watch out for your interests and safety. If at any time you are not feeling good you are encouraged to make it known to Coach J-R.
How will I know to do the different exercises? At the beginning of each session Coach J-R will announce what the goal sot he session is and what is to be achieved. New exercise will be explained and demonstrated by Coach J-R with a “dry run” done by all attendees. At the first Boot Camp session of the 6 sessions attendees are asked to arrive earlier to go through the first dry run together. During the Boot Camp, Coach J-R will correct you tactfully and explain to each attendee the way to execute each movement/exercise correctly and safely. Coach J-R will never ask you to do any exercise, movement, or other exertion that he cannot complete himself.
Why such small groups? Coach J-R believes in quality over quantity. In limiting each group to around six attendees, this ensures that each participant gets the attention necessary to achieve a successful and beneficial session.
What is the schedule of the Boot Camp? In a typical starter Sat morning 6 week Boot Camp, Boot Camps are held as from 6am and 7am for 60 minutes, and even a Midday Boot Camp session for those that cannot make the early morning schedule.
What should I bring with me? Other than your enthusiasm, and suitable sports clothing, it is recommended that you bring a suitable sports drink for during the workout, and some recovery food and hydration for afterwards (Fresh fruit smoothie, Bananas, fresh dates, other fresh fruit or your favourite recovery bars etc), so that your body can start to recover immediately after the session is completed. A sports towel or similar to sponge the litres of sweat could also be a good idea! Any sports bags, keys etc, can be left locked in your car, or if you are on foot, other arrangements can be made.
Where are the Boot Camp workouts held? All over Australia! For the first quarter of 2010, there is a concentration of Foreign Legion Boot Camps in Sydney, mainly in the Drummoyne. However by request and in specific campaign launches, other Boot Camps will be held at various locations such as Eastern Suburbs, Centennial Park or other. Weekend Boot Camp retreats will also be held at various locations throughout the East Coast in 2010. |
